I’ve noticed an ongoing trend. Authors spend ages perfecting their plot, but they often let their characters form spontaneously as they write, filling in details here and there as the plot calls for them. This can lead to inconsistent, flat, or unengaging protagonists. But a brilliant plot can’t succeed without a well-developed lead!

The problem isn't a lack of talent on the author's part, it's simply a lack of development. Your characters need more attention.

Featuring over one hundred pages of thought-provoking questions, this journal forces you to examine your character's inner world in intimate detail. Even if the specific characteristics you develop in the journal never make it into the pages of your story, the depth of your preparation will ensure your character feels rounded, real, and consistently authentic throughout your novel.
